Hey benjerman I promised myself id drop a review

Man I felt I just won by sheer luck if you had more time on this track it couldve been an awesome close shave. the intro was really good and I love all the ideas but I guess the 2nd theme just felt abrupt and disconnected but its an awesome effort considering the time you have left

But ill say this if you made a longer version of something like saharan sunrise or clicky I wouldve gotten nervous. simple yet and I as I said in my news post Magnetizing or captivating. There is nostalgia and there is this addictive element as well (though im not sure what it is). I really think this sort of music is your forte (in my opinion at least)

Anyways thank you for sharing my track and keep composing awesome songs

TheBenjerman responds:

Hey, thanks for the review! And I think you won by quite a bit more than a "close shave."

Cheers, and keep making awesome stuff!

Hi there

well its nice i cant say much about it cos im not that in to trance/techno
but the mixing and production is clean and professional.

nice work. keep doing what you love

Sol responds:

Thank you so much! Now I know for sure it's true since you're pretty professional yourself. :)))

well it seems people dont get downtempo its not suppose or rather prefers not to build-up to something epic or grand. (that what i think and is highly subjective)

i love the strings and piano parts. the whole piece gives very dark yet melancholic atmosphere. it reminds me of those depressing incandescent lights, not sure why it just does.

anyways overall its lovely descent downtempo and good luck in round 2

InvisibleObserver responds:

Some people don't like pop, some don't like jazz. Dust under the rug really.

While I'm not sure how I feel about the super mundane visage you get from this, intriguing that it is quite specific.

Thanks for the comment, luck to you too in R2.

the way you blended jazz is like the jazz in the film mirror mask

but yours is like bach meets jazz and bach runs away with the circus
i love it how it switches time signature
i cant find any faults simply because i enjoy this piece.. then again im bad at criticizing...
but i will say that disjointed feeling people get is actually an element from jazz, they are being psychologically deceived haha. its not disjointed because in the end it still flowed smoothly!

and with that i say good luck to you and hope you make it to round 3

ZipZipper responds:

I kind of liked the music in MirrorMask but I generally disliked the movie hahahahaha

finally a striking cinematic piece

i love that playful part in 1:26 it made me smile
you literally painted a picture with sounds, a picture of rising from the depths.
your harmonies are wonderful and the way different key changes progressed was smooth and flawless. (i dont think it was that sudden)

and the ending was rather interesting to me it showed/portrayed the wreckage that cthulu left.
anyways i loved it 5 stars and good luck in round 2

headphoamz responds:

Steam! Oh man, it's great to see a review from you. Your latest piece for NGADM is something I've been listening to on repeat all weekend. Really a magical and original piece!
I love how you said "painted a picture" - one of the highest compliments. I see colors when I listen to or write music, and I tried to incorporate that into my musical palette when composing this one.
Really value your opinion, thank you :)

this is nostalgic to me.. im reminded of the bands like audio slave, live, queens of the stone age, alice in chains and Black Sabbath maybe hehe but you have your own style which i is nice.

i think the production came out great despite the lack of time (to me at least)
though i wish your voice a had a bit more "presence"

Kor-Rune responds:

Yeah it vocals need better takes and better levels+eq. Gonna do it after ngadm probably. Thanks for the review!

this reminds me of Adriana by Menescal nice work

well this made me smile. nice work reminds me of the grim adventures of billy and mandy

DuttonsaysHi responds:

Oh man I loved that show! in fact, that art style is the kind of style I had envisioned for this track! :D Thanks ^^

etherealwinds voice is wonderful as always! magnificent work and great production

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks for reviewing my submission, steampianist! Jordi's ethereal vocals truly complement the Celtic atmosphere. I'm really glad that you like it.

I LOVE your Voice

Troisnyx responds:
