    XMAS is HERE! ALMOST

    Posted by steampianist - December 23rd, 2013

well I JUST GOT SUPPORTER UPGRADE! and i gotta say newgrounds looks nice

anyway.. tommorow is xmas eve.. and honestly im not so much a fan of xmas (i like the gift giving part but not so much the hours and hours of church,tone-deaf carolers and crowded groceries...) but despite this i decided to arrange 1 out of 2 favorite xmas song of mine which is carol of the bells (second one is do they know its christmas time). i was inspired by street musicians and orphans tears.. lolz honestly i just wanted to be the counter current of this joyous holiday and decided to make a sad arrangement, the saddest arrangement you'll hear (probably)

i wanted a broken accordion, chains, rusty cymbals and a bucket! and a voice trying to be heard in the unforgiving blizzards of XMAS. so i made sure to make Oliver sound like he is singing outside a cold dark street.

    here is the video

but seriosly though guys merry xmas and best wishes your best acquaintance +Steam+

I swear, you would love the hours and hours of church and carollers if you lived in Preston. Or Hatfield. :D

That aside, that Carol of the Bells sounds... hilariously sad.

you know what i might just do ahehehehe.... errrrr..... idk.. churchers gives me the bubbly stomach.. anyways i wish you a merry xmas and break a leg in your performance at vigil mass.. unless you already did hehe

Have a cracking clockwork Christmas, Steampianist, you provider of unique tracks, you.

You really shined during NGADM: I don't know why, but I've only just listened to 'A Weirdo's Gigue' now and it sounds like a jolly 8-bit carnival theme or something. It's addictive, man.

I liked the instrumental part of 'Carol of the Bells', but I'm not a fan of Vocaloid Oliver on the vocals. He sounds sad, yes, but...I think an authentic vocalist would have brought home a more emotional feel.

But anyway, back to Christmas happiness and stuff. Hope you have a good one tomorrow (it's Christmas Eve as I'm typing this, at 12:40 am, haha) and that you get some awesome presents, and keep up the music!

heyy thanks man. merry xmas to you too and glad you like my NGADM stuff :)

awwww not a fan of vocaloid? well i hope that changes in the future. cheers!!

Well, only an hour more and we'll find out then, won't we? :D Carols begin at 7:30 p.m. GMT, while Mass begins at 8:00 GMT. Oof. The singing is something I've been regular with, but the drumming, now that's a different story.....

I gave a heads-up to one of the resident priests (and the resident deacon) -- I said something along the lines of, "If you see a dark-skinned bodhrán player at the organ loft, it's yours truly." XD

Happy Christmas, Steam. I hope and pray it's a good one for us all. ^_^

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

MERRY XMAS TO YOU TOO PHRYNNA! late reply... just got back from a place where internet doesnt exist

Merry Christmas! I listened to your vocaloid stuff - that song and "Twaddles of a Flue Faker" - and enjoyed them quite a bit! The vocaloid and the steampunk stuff go together really nicely. Such good sound design :x
