you know how some music has weird effects on people
for some reason i feel nostalgic here

anyways clean performance as always and i can hear those monitors helped cos this is a really clean recording/production ;)

i secretly enjoyed the fight and wanted to do a review but realized didnt want my petty review to be next to skye's and step's review so instead

anyway i disagree with people here this work is danceable (the beat is probably too alien for them). although you might look weird like napoleon dynamite or something hehe but nevertheless danceable

although its not a problem for me but people might say that your melody is repetitive but for me its sounds cool but im not a fan of that glitching cymbals.

dont have much to say anymore so with that over all good mixing and idk for me its really danceable

johnfn responds:

Heheh well thanks for sneaking and reviewing a piece that they'll probably miss ;-P

I actually had some trouble with the glitching too, like the glitching vst I was using was really unreliable because it'd randomly started sounding different. I was hoping that it would sound right in the render, but sometimes it was off. :/

I think it's funny that you could dance to this. Maybe you are an alien =D (That would explain a lot about your music actually...)

If NGADM taught me one thing it was how to mix well. It used to take me SO LONG to mix. Now I can mix down practically while I write the song. It's kind of an amazing thing.

Hey Man!!!

im really loving these industrial noises!!

ForgottenDawn responds:

Thanks man, I appreciate it. :)

wonderful! wonderful singing!! i think the reverb is just fine. such minor details like that is overpowered by your voice and your harp :)

etherealwinds responds:

Thank you Steamy :)))

going to the bathroom has gotten difficult.......

headphoamz responds:

Shoulda brought an extra flashlight, steam :D

you sir gave me a horrid image of a human being butchered in 8-bit :D

seriously though dude this is trippy!!

great work guys i love the strings here :)

i can hear edirol here haha nice

i really like the strings theme and the way you played around with the beat. i am curious on what you used/do to make that clockwork like sound at 2:05

though i think it needs a theme that stands-out (melody)
or just like what headphoamz said, vocals would be great!

InvisibleObserver responds:

I really hate Edirols cello/viola/violin solo instruments is a big thing I learned from this file.

Clockwork is like nuts and a contact microphone style of sampling on breaking stuff, so it just picks up the high end clicks and cracks. Then some pogo and pitch changing to alter how the sound plays out. For your desired steam punk-ish sound turning pre-existing foley into ticky stuff shouldn't be too hard with a little bit of high Q/resonant HP filtering, repetition and pitch shifting on samples.

Hey dude well firstly id like to say that the production is great especially low-ends of this piece really solid and balance

for composition well it does need a melody although i think there is a descant one but still needs a melodic theme all, i like the rhythmic guitar riff though.

overall the production is great everything is clear but it lacks in the composition department
you should work on this again if you get the chance

InYourDreams responds:

Hey steam!
Thanks for reviewing! :D... yeah, I did the composition in like 30 min xD... Nothing can come right of doing it like that, I guess... but time was short for me. I definitely will work more on this one, after I finish the stuff I've to do first. I like where this song is going...
And I'll definitely finish my original idea for this round aswell, when I get the time! :)

this is just amazing you made it sounds real even the noises that guitar players make although there are time that it sounds that its played in a really advance VST (specifically in the running scales)

anyways great work

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot! To get the running sequences even more realistic is quite hard because you have to tweak the velocity and length of the single notes. Also to get the exact speed almost killed my nerves :D Glad you liked it!
