EDIT: When i said professional im referring to user in question's definition (whatever it may be) and when i said amateur i mean someone who is not experienced in vocaloid editing/tuning and treats it as a toy :)
NOTE: Tuning is not necessarily something to do with pitch. tuning means editing the vocaloid over-all singing like dynamics, brightness, pitch, velocity, open and etc.....

Hey guys

so a certain user here said that we should not use vocaloid to make professional music and instead use real singers because vocaloids are like toys and should be only used for "fun" well i agree with this person. it is definitely a toy. but it is only a toy when its in the hands of an " amateur musician" or a "tone-deaf-otaku" hehe

anyway this time im featuring the producer Mitchie M. in hopes to make a few people change their minds about vocaloids.

Mitchie M is renowned for his insane god-like tuning skills with vocaloids
(the level of realism is unbelievable. )

In his works you can hear Hatsune Miku Sing, Talk and Rap like a real-ish human. (i shit you not)
his works are mostly EDM, some cute-ish techno and maybe something like a new age ballad... idk... in short its japanese pop music. (obviously)

although his style is pretty much mainsteam (though a very distinctive one) but he makes it up for that incredible tuning of the vocaloid singer. sorry if im being redundant with the whole "oh his tuning is incredible yadayadayada..... so on and so forth" but i just have to stress this cos god dammit just god dammit i wish i was as good as this guy and for someone who isnt a seasoned musician he/she probably might mistake miku for a real human.

anyway i think its best that you hear it for yourselves
(Note this is before the release of miku V3 so he wins the internetz)
here is a complete crossfade album with miku talking...
Greatest Idol Album

seperate songs from the album
-his first song that made him an established vocaloid producer
-Freely Tommorow

-here we have luka rapping i should mention that luka is choppy but here luka sounds so smooth and again miku sounds natural like a k-pop singer or something though i feel iffy with the intro (thats just me)
-Ai Dee (I.D.)

-this has to be the most expressive miku tuning ever (not to mention kawaii as fuck) the way she talks and those little expression she makes is just wow..... Mitchie M. gave a lot of hard work and care
-Viva Happy

-a sort of electro rock but thats not the highlight. the highlight is miku's talking and singing(duh) although there are some traces that she is indeed a vocaloid but damn cant find anyone else (as of now) that can tune like this
-Blooming The Idol

-another kawaii-as-fuck song i think this time he used the V3 version.
-Ageage Again

-"well fine he can make vocaloids sound real but he is only good with miku and probably luka...." oh dear whoever you are i hope you dont eat your words. i should note kaito and meiko sounds robotic in their raw state while rin and len is just damn difficult to tune (they can hurt your ear) but this song says other wise
-Birthday song for miku

and thats all the song i heard from him (he only have a few songs quality/quantity) although i will level with he/she who shuns vocaloids despite mitchie m's hardwork to make vocaloids sound real they still have this robotic quality (though mitchie did great to make it sound natural) and they still have certain limitations in expression but i will tell you this. vocaloids and their producers are scratching and cracking the barrier between vocaloids and real humans and with the progression of technology today who knows one day you might just find yourself dumbfounded for finding out the person singing so wonderfully in the radio turns out to be a vocaloid..

its the last round of NGADM and i have already posted my submission honestly i was somewhat running out of ideas
til I HEARD OF KIKUO and my imagination went crazy!!

Kikuo's harmonies, instrumentation, transitions, composition and use of vocaloid (Miku) are off the charts!!
its mind blowing i had an altered state of consciousness and his lyrical Subject borders on the sublime (specifically Death)
but despite the macabre lyrics the melodies are jovial and surreal (jazzy) making it somewhat ironic and i should mention he makes pretty decent dubstep-esque music and even though i dont understand the lyrics w/o subtitles its still a pleasure to listen to his song

SONGS BY KIKUO! (MUST REACH HIS LEVEL)
Shikabane no Odori (Corpse Dance or Dance of the Dead)
the first song i heard from him i was amazed that he was able to make diminish chord sounds so good...... and of course the melodies are just wonderful to my ears

Ill Forgive You Even If You Die
that chorus is just wow and that intro is so cute!! such a romantically macabre lyrics

Mono Wa Parapara Kowasu
Simply Damn catchy and reminiscent of my style only 10 times MUCH BETTER!!!!

Aishite Aishite Aishite (Love me Love me Love me)
love it love it love it

Im Sorry Im Sorry
dupstep-eque and i love the chorus.... though its a fucked up love song like really fucked up

Ten Sho Sho Ten Sho
starting to think he is better than skrillex..

We Should Not do Bad Things
his more simplistic song but the melodies are wonderful also its one of those dark subjects with a happy feel

and finally
Youre a Useless Child
reminds me of a little bit of The Smiths

He has a lot more awesome songs go to youtube and check him out

GUESS what im in the finals of NGADM'13 and i have to admit its sort of tiring (Mentally)

it turned into 3 way battle because Kor-Rune had to drop out due to unfavorable circumstances :( thus robbing me of having the privilege of facing off with last year's NGADM winner.
(check out kor-rune's tracks)

anyways according to reviews ive exhausted my
whacky steampunk-ish industrials-ish trackl.... ahahahahaha
i guess for this round ill somewhat take heed this nitpick
and show what else i can do..... its so hard to think of something new honestly maybe its because in this time and age
there is no such thing as "new" everything has been done before its just that they are presented in a different packaging.

even the mechanical percussion in my tracks has been done before by composers like Erik Satie (Parade) Raphaƫl Beau and Max Steiner,(MicMacs) Clockwork Quartet (in some tracks), and some precursors to industrial music (Throbbing Gristle and Brion Gysin's Pistol Poem)

so yeah.. pretty much everything is old its just that the packaging is different.. i might be inaccurate but i cant guarantee it >:D (REPACKAGED)

i was planning to finish dark woods circus (cover)
and our new vocaloid original feauturing GUMI ENGLISH (YT only. lyricist's requests)

(im splitting time between NGADM and the music for boundless so yeah....)

also after NGADM and probably the holidays ill be uploading videos called "steampianist shares"
it will be me sharing on how i make those mechanical tick and tacks with default FL samples

well i made it in round 4 and i somewhat got lucky again cos time wasn't kind on ForgottenDawn

Agility: 5
Intelligence: 5
Luck: 999999999999999999999

although the scores the judges gave me says that i didnt win on pure luck. so maybe i should cut me some slack :)
so now im up against InvisibleObserver check out his tracks if you like IDM, Downtempo and Glitch
so thats it... oh and i have a special track for a certain match up if ever.. and for favorite tracks well most of the tracks in this round are great so just check this LIST out but i gotta say I really enjoyed Soundchris' Public Enemy No.1

Thank you everyone for listening to my track its even in the Popular section of the audio portal!

Well round 2 is done and im stoked that im still in the game!
well no matter what people say luck still played its part cos if TheBenjerman was able to maximize his time maybe just maybe the result would've different (just a possibility)

TheBenjerman's Round 2 submission

round 2 was packed with cinematic! tracks! and most of them seem to follow a certain formula....
anyways theres one orchestral track that stood out its by headphoamz
and the track is called Cthulu Surfaces

other awesome tracks that i enjoyed and downloaded
When a Good Man goes to War by HalcyonicFalconX
Juste Une Blague by ZipZipper
A Long Way Home by etherealwinds and BlazingDragon
Tir Na Nog by ChronoNomad and etherealwinds
I Feel By InvisibleObserver

now in other news i will be making some smash bros. remix and submitting to a project called Harmony of Heroes (much thanks to Step for recommending me).
Im really excited about this and i cant wait for the list to come out hope i can get some Legend of Zelda OST or some Earthbound/Mother OST! check out the trailer

i have a problem... ive been listening to a lot of vocaloid songs lately and some anime ost and i fear this may influence my round 3.

i cant stop listening...
Love Logic
Tokio Funka
Strawberry Panic Opening 2
Ringo Mogire Beam
Filament from Mirai Nikki
Umineko No Naku koro ni Opening

"Mechanical Aesthetics I" download full album here

So the NGADM 13 results are in me and zipzipper has the closest score in round 1 a 0.02 difference (thats crazy i won by a the skin of my teeth!.. here is zipzipper's Round 1 Submission

NGADM round 1 was great there was a lot of awesome tracks and i discovered 2 artists with music that i enjoy very much and they are
ZipZipper
-the twisted circus is here! if you want weird, quirky, and dark music filled with auditory wonders then this is the guy for you i personally love his works
etherealwinds
- neo-celtic music whereas i like to call it "Pagan". he has some great "cold" medieval tracks guarantee to connect you with the earths anima plus he and the other singer has a wonderful voice

so do check these two out

anywas now im up against
thebenjerman
he makes simple relaxing music that seems to have a very strong magnetic appeal. i find some of his music enjoyable and interesting so again i will conjure up my all

and now in vocaloid news miku english is apparently out Miku

also i notice there isnt much (serious) vocaloid tracks. so i decided to upload some of my english vocaloid tracks here in hopes (maybe futile) to appeal to people outside the so called "fandom"

but there is one decent track here by Back-From-Purgatory
We Know hope she makes more
(i think its in the front page as well ahehe)

and of course here are mine
The Logical Pink Gizmo and The Gingerbread Man
the PV for it

Twaddles of a Flue Faker

hope people will give them a listen and give vocaloid a chance! i really think theyre great

Download all tracks of mechanical aesthetics I HERE

Besides Instrumental Steampunk Music Ive been making original vocaloid songs with Oliver and Gumi (english)
though it would be more of oliver. due to the lyricist prefers to write songs for him

anyways here is the 2nd song we were able to put out
called the Logical Pink Gizmo and The Gingerbread Man our first song is
Twaddles of a Flue Faker with oliver and is here in NG

it deals with subject of starvation and the harmful psychological effects (in a very absurd way)
the song is just oliver eating all manner of things which "his logical pink gizmo", which gumi represents,
tricks him to perceive walking candies specifically a gingerbread man and so now he gives chase and eats
and claiming that he will feel better or "sane" after eating the so-called gingerbread man

anyways here is the simple yet subliminal PV (the pv is loosely connected to the song) please listen and enjoy
